Professional Experience
I founded Noxcuses in 1992, out of Westchester County New York. My goal was to create a fitness consulting business specializing in a holistic approach to health & wellness. My responsibilities as founder include fitness coaching, staff development, performance evaluations, program development and media relations. I draw from many years of business experience, my love of fitness training and a bachelors degree in psychology with graduate work in Counseling Psychology. I work hard to provide the highest quality personal service with the utmost attention to individual program design. My service philosophy includes professional education, experience and motivational support in facilitation of progressive behavioral change.

Althea Hondrogen

Althea has 20 years of experience in the health/fitness/wellness industry. Barbara Vlot

Barbara, a native of the Netherlands, was introduced to Pilates years ago due to major back problems of her own. She is a European certified Pilates Mat, Yoga and Aerobics instructor. Since moving to the Bay Area she has become a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CPT) personal trainer and trains with Balanced Body University to continue her Pilates Reformer and Apparatus education. Barbara trains her clients using a mix of all styles with just one goal: Having fun while working out!

Cameron Shell

Cameron graduated with distinguished honors from James Madison University in 2003 with a B.S. in Kinesiology/Exercise Science, and a minor in coaching. Over the past 6 years he has worked extensively with injury rehabilitation, sports performance, and weight management clientele. Cameron has been certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American Sport Education Program, and the American Red Cross. As a former division one wrestler, Cameron has competed as an athlete, rehabilitated serious injuries, and experienced nearly all weight management techniques firsthand.

Understanding the science behind your exercise program design helps boost confidence and adherence. Cameron will help explain the physics, anatomy, physiology and biomechanics behind everything you do, because knowledge is something you can keep forever.

Colin Lewis

Colin started working in the fitness industry at the age of 19. He holds nationally recognized certifications including NSCA-CSCS, certified strength and conditioning coach and NASM; National Academy of Sports Medicine. Colin is well qualified in various specialties including Pilates, Kettlebell training, TRX Suspension, Kick Boxing, Core Strength, Flexibility, and small group training. His own program includes focus on strength and power and his own personal success story drives his passion to assist every client. Colin is available to create customized programming and vary your workouts to challenge the mind and body while setting the spirit free.

Daniella Dayoub

Daniella has multiple certifications from Nationally recognized organizations: NASM-PES, ACE, and NCSF. A lifelong athlete herself, she has a background in downhill skiing, running, body-building, and yoga. She also specializes in working with clients suffering from osteoporosis. Recently she has become excited about incorporating TRX fitness systems into her client sessions. She is also a Nutrition Educator from the National Institute of Whole Health.

Dr. Clyde Wilson

Dr. Clyde Wilson teaches “Food Facts, Fads and Pharmacology” in the medical schools of Stanford University and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He teaches three courses in the Stanford Department of Athletics: introductory nutrition, advanced sports nutrition, and kinesiology. He received his PhD in chemistry from Stanford researching nerve signaling and the impact of omega-3 fats. He conducted post-doctoral research in the Cardiovascular Research Institute at UCSF on muscle metabolism and fatigue, work that he continues as a research associate in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. His system of addressing each person’s individual nutritional needs for weight loss, health and performance is based on a systematic and comprehensive use of the reported science.

Drea Lucia Roberts

Drea Roberts has enjoyed teaching teaching Pilates for the last five years. She received her training in the classical method, otherwise known as Romana's Pilates in Seattle, where she gained her Bachelor's in Social Work and a Minor in Dance. She has worked with various clients, including dancers, athletes, supermoms, and your everyday person that just wants to move again. In addition, she has experience working with injuries such as scoliosis, lower back pain, herniated discs, knee and hip replacements. She focuses on having proper form and correct alignment, yet keeps her clients moving so they may get the most out of their session. Known for her listening caring, fun and challenging workouts, she encourages those she works with to always include movement in their daily lives. Drea is currently studying to get her MA in Special Education at NDNU.

Garrett Higashi

Garrett graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. degree in Kinesiology with the emphasis in Exercise Science and minor in Nutrition. He also holds multiple certifications, which include Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, and Pre/Post Natal through American Council of Exercise. He has worked with various elite athletes all over California. Jin Kim

Madeleine Rive

I have years of experience in the field of fitness training. I have been involved in sport for the past 25 years starting at a very early age and I still love every aspect of it.

Twelve years ago I became interested in fitness when I started to compete as an amateur enlisting the assistance of a personal trainer as part of my preparations.

I received my USA permanent residency through exceptional ability in sport by competing internationally, first representing South Africa and then The United States of America, in Underwater Hockey at World Championships.

Being an athlete I can fully appreciate the role physical fitness plays in people's lives.

My current favorite sports are: triathlons, snowboarding, mountain biking, wakeboarding, rock climbing, underwater hockey and kite surfing.
I have been interviewed by, CBS News, Women's Sports Illustrator , Oxygen magazine and San Jose Mercury News.

Matt Raivio

Matt comes to NoXcuses as an All American Football player at Northern Arizona and played one year for the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League. He holds a C.S.C.S and holds a masters degree in education. He coaches and teaches wellness at Foothill College working with a wide variety of mens and womens athletic teams.

Michelle Wong

Michelle graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. In addition to her B.S. degree, she is also NSCA-CPT, USA Weightlifting, First Aid, AED, and CPR certified. Currently, she is the Head Coach of the Foster City Flyers 2009 club basketball team. Michelle has interned at Stanford Hospital with the head physical therapist, and a Strength Coach for three years. She is also a Sports Performance Test Administrator and Coach. Michelle has worked closely with physical therapists and has the experience and knowledge to custom design workouts to optimize personal goals! She has worked with athletes of all ages and athletic abilities, from children to older adults, amateur and collegiate athletes, to professional and Olympic athletes.

Sara Gurka

I grew up in Massachusetts leading a very active lifestyle. I was a competitive gymnast, ran track, played soccer and even took up diving. All the various aches and pains and strains and sprains that came with the territory of athletics led me to study Kinesiology at the University of New Hampshire. I competed in Division I gymnastics and graduated with as BS in Kinesiology with emphasis in Athletic Training. I became a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioing Association. I then moved to California to work at a physical therapy clinic where I focused on rehabilitation therapy with patients and was introduced to pilates reformer training. I then decided to take on life as a personal trainer for more freedom in my program design and more diveristy in clientele. My experience in training ranges from sports specifics, pre and post rehabilitation, pre and post natal, senior population and general fitness and health. In my spare time I mix up my workouts with cross fit, kickboxing, yoga and adult gymnastics classes. I recently became a Certified Russian Kettlebell Instructor and will be trying for Level II in February. I have run a few marathons and love to trail run with my dog Misha.

Serena Cano

Serena completed her B.A in Biological Sciences at San Jose State University and is currently taking a break from her graduate studies in the Department of Nutritional Science and San Jose State University. A certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association since 2006 and is currently completing her National Strength and Conditioning Certification. Her nutritional experience helped her alter many of her families Mexican recipes, in order to keep the authentic flavors and high nutritional content; without the excess saturated fats. She leads by example, preparing healthy meals for her family and making exercise a priority. She can teach you how to do the same! She has been Holding these memberships ensures she is up to date on the latest fitness research. Serena believes exercise and proper nutrition is the only way to remain healthy, happy and strong.

Tiffany Rose

Tiffany Rose is a National Champion in Synchronized Swimming and a former 2006 and 2007 figure competitor. She is a NASM and ACE Certified Personal Trainer and a certified Lifestyle/Weight Management Consultant. She is also a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist. This qualifies her to work with many special populations. Her dynamic training style keeps her clients focused on their goals, as well as her supportive attitude and challenging workouts.
